  1. Awareness of Drugs & Alcohol By Karlee Daniel

  2. Alcohol; What it can do to You (physically, mentally) and Your Life • Alcohol is such an accepted substance in our society but do we really know or understand how it affects your brain and body? Most European nations and United States have used alcohol in their early adulthood. Approximately 50% of individuals who meet diagnostic standards for alcoholism convey some difficulties in thinking or recollection. The capability to plan in advance, withhold responses, learn and hold information, and work with information (such as following a map) are mainly affected. It's possible that alcohol use doesn't actually cause these effects, but as an alternative these problems may have been there before, and may in fact be a hazard factor for developing alcohol abuse or dependence. What is important is that we have seen worse execution over time amid young people who sustained a pattern of substantial alcohol use. Those who conveyed drinking so much at times that they experienced undesirable after-effects, or hangovers, were the most likely to go downhill over time, as associated to those who ceased substance use and the desire to use it.

  3. Alcohol; What it can do to You (physically, mentally) and Your Life • On the contrary, the brains of youthful heavy drinkers but not those of individuals who infrequently drink spend much dispensation effort when they look at alcohol advertisements, opposing to looking at non-alcohol beverage pictures. Consequently, brains may become "sensitized" to processing alcohol linked information once you get involved in drinking. In conclusion the research shows evidently that continuing use of heavy levels of alcohol is allied with adverse effects on the brain. The problematic news is, if you want to grasp your maximum possibility with the brain you have, you should limit alcohol use to reasonable levels (that is 1 drink for females and 2 drinks for males per juncture). The upright news is that for people in rehab from alcohol problems, many complications with attentiveness and memory will improve considerably in the first month of recovery, and even throughout continuous recovery as long as you sojourn away from alcohol.

  4. Awareness of Drugs and How They can Affect You (Physically/Mentally) • Its as easy as a snap of your fingers to get mixed into the wrong crowd with the wrong substances that you eventually rely on. I know it’s hard to believe, you could be ‘that” person but not if you make the right choices! Psychoactive drugs are separated into 3 groups, depressants: they slow down the central nervous system; for example: tranquillizers, alcohol, petrol, heroin and other opiates, cannabis (in small doses), stimulants: they stimulate the nervous system with excitement; for example: nicotine, amphetamines, cocaine, caffeine, hallucinogens: they alter how things are observed; for example: LSD, mescaline, 'magic mushrooms', cannabis (in big doses). A drug can have mental, emotional and physical effects and can change the behavior of the person taking the drug. These behavioral situations are not the same for everyone. The effect of any drug will depend on the drug and what effect it has on the central nervous system; the quantity taken; how it is taken; how often; for how long; if it is taken with other substances. Also the person: age, weight, sex, lenience, past experiences, mood, personality, the expectations and what the person desires to occur from using the drug. Last but not least the environment is extremely important, in a place where you feel safe: what the community or society expects, permits and excuses as a result of using the drug; the place; the presence of other people; noise levelsetc.

  5. Awareness of Drugs and How They can Affect You (Physically/Mentally) • Drugs are fascinating because they change our awareness. The basic reason people take drugs is to vary their conscious experience. Of course there are many ways to alter consciousness, such as listening to music, dancing, exercising, day dreaming ... and participating in religious rituals. The list is probably endless, and ... suggests that changing consciousness is something people like to do.
