  2. How do snakes move? They push against the ground and sometimes the snake’s scales help.

  3. How many types of snakes are there? There are about 2,400 different kinds of snakes.

  4. Why do snakes need coloration? The coloration is to warn that the snake is poisonous. It is also for hiding.

  5. What are fangs for? Fangs are for biting and for injecting poison.

  6. What do snakes do in the winter? They sleep in the winter. They group together to keep body heat.

  7. Where do snakes lay their eggs? They lay their eggs in holes, logs, trees, and other places.

  8. How do snakes sense their prey? They feel vibrations and they can smell with their tongues.
