Science In room 16 science was a blast. First, we learned about magnets and electricity. We even made a light bulb light up with a partner. We made circuits, witch is where electricity flows to make light. We had a play called Geology Rocks. It was fun and we learned a lot about science. Lastly, we watched lots of Bill Nye the Science Guy videos. They were funny and informative about science.
E.L.A. In E.L.A we read a lot of books. For example, Stone Fox was about a boy who needs to get money for his grandpa, so he enters a sled race. Another book was Island of the Blue Dolphins, witch is about an Indian girl who gets stranded on an island. We also didn’t just read books we also wrote stories like narratives [a short story with 3 paragraphs], a response to literature [A story with a main adjective like courage about the book and then you write 3 examples of the adjective you chose.
Social Studies Social studies was another fun subject. We learned about Indians like the Chumash, Miwok, Cahuilla, and the Hupa. We made little Indian books with facts and then artifacts about what they ate or pictures of their weapons etc. Also we learned about the Gold Rush. When James Marshall found gold that was when the gold rush started! That is how California got a lot of villagers.
Fun Things In my 4th grade year we had a lot of fun things to do like, boot camp break. In boot camp break Our teacher Mrs. Nam would make up a lot of fun games by herself. Another fun thing we did in class was fun Friday. We would do it every Friday of course and earn minutes if we have been working hard our not talk, stuff like that we would earn minutes. Also we can loose minutes like if we talk, act goofy, or not listen we would loose minutes.
Our Russian Pen pals • In 4th grade we each had Russian pen pals. They learned how to speak English, so we can write letters, make videos, and make power points. They would show us how their country is and their school. They would tell us there games they play, their holidays they celebrate, the past of their country, and places they have.
