  3. Fall 2012 Campus Snapshot Freshmen • Freshmen Applied – 29,336 • Freshmen Admitted – 13,559 (46%) • Freshmen Enrolled – 4,148* • Lowest Tier 2 Index Admitted – 3700 (SAT) 800 (ACT) * As of 9/18/12

  5. Campus Selection Process • Local Admission Area - All high schools from main portion of LA County and all of Ventura County • a-g courses • GPA from 10th – 12th grade • SAT or ACT (no writing scores used)

  6. Campus Selection Process • Out of area students need additional criteria • Higher Eligibility Index using GPA and Test Scores (Minimum 3200 w/SAT or 740 w/ACT) • Music majors – auditions required • Nursing majors must have RN completed Apply by Nov. 30 – no exceptions

Impacted Majors • Accountancy • Finance • Financial Services option (Business Administration) Students will be admitted to the University as Pre- Accountancy, Finance, or Financial Services majors. Acceptance to the major will be determined by the GPA in prerequisite courses and available spaces within the program.

Early Start Program • $182 per unit (fees waived for financial aid students) • CSUN offers 1-unit course offerings in writing and math • Early Start Writing is online • Early Start math is partially online • Students showing significant development in ESP math will be invited to come to campus for tutoring and retesting to advance to the next level of mathematics

Early Start Program (Cont.) • Students desiring to attend CSUN encouraged to complete at CSUN • Students may participate in Early Start at any CSU campus • Courses begin as early as June and last course ends in early August • For 2012, CSUN initiated communication to destination students to provide information for participation in ESP

  10. SB 1440 Majors at CSUN AAT/AST Transfer Degrees • Communication Studies • English • History • Physics • Political Science • Sociology • Studio Arts • Theater Arts • Business Administration • Geology • Kinesiology • Mathematics Programs are not impacted and have no special GPA requirements

  11. SB 1440 Admission Process • 2 step verification process • SB1440 status is determined once a student has earned the appropriate degree as verified on the official transcript • Student indicates on CSUMentor application • Admissions will code them as a SB 1440

  12. SB 1440 Admission Process (Cont.) • The students will receive the benefits of SB 1440 and as long they do not change plan. • Matriculation is the same for all students
