  1. English Grammar in poems, fairytales and pictures Expression “to be going to” Alexander Babaev, school No. 1975 (1467) Teacher: Natalia ViktorovnaOstapenko

  2. The poem below shows how to use the expression “to be going to”. I’ve got a classmate - Peter Hood, Whose intentions are so good! He’s going to do his homework, He’s going to get up at 6 o’clock, He’s going himself to clean his room, He’s going to walk in the afternoon. One year has passed, Two years have gone, But “going to” hasn’t ever passed to “have done”. You probably know such Peters, too Who are forever “going to”.

  3. FAIRYTALE Once upon a time there lived a boy whose name was Nick. He lived with his Mother at the outskirts of a village. His Mother was sick – she could not walk and was lying in the bed. Nick was a naughty boy – he used bad words, was rude to his teachers and neighbors, got bad marks, fought with his mates. His mother was very unhappy for his behaviour, but could not do anything. However Nick’s was a very kind boy in the depth of his heart, and his main dream was to return health to his Mother, and he would do his best in order to help her. He knew that there lived a Wizard on the high hill behind the forest, who could fulfill dreams. The way to his house was long and dangerous, but Nick decided to go to the Wizard and ask him to help his Mother.

  4. FAIRYTALE (continued) One morning he got up very yearly, when it was dark, took some bread and water with him, and was going to leave. Suddenly his Mother woke up and asked him: Nick, where are you going? It is too early to go to school. What are you going to do? “I am going to collect mushrooms for our dinner”, - answered Nick. Suddenly his Mother guessed about something, became concerned and exclaimed: “Are yougoing to visit the Wizard? Don’t do that, it is too dangerous!” But Nick replied: “I am not going to visit the Wizard; I am just going to collect mushrooms. Don’t be concerned”. And he ran out of the house. After a long and dangerous way he has reached the Wizard’s house. The Wizard listened to him very attentively and then said: “I can see that you are a kind boy and love your Mother, so I would like to help you and your Mother. But you have to change your behavior – you have to be polite, not to use bad words, not to fight with your mates. If you are going to be a good boy – believe me - your Mother will become healthy. “

  5. FAIRYTALE (continued) “Oh, I will try to become a good boy, I am going to do my best!” - exclaimed Nick. But he himself still was not sure he could. When he went out of the Wizard’s house, suddenly he saw a very bright and shiny rainbow in the sky, just over his head. He understood that it was a sign to him, looked up in the sky and cried: “I am going to be a good boy, and my Mother is going to be healthy!”

  6. SOUND[ŋ] Angry birds are brave and strong, Bravely fight and sing a song, Pigs are stealing their eggs, Hiding them in holes and bags, Making buildings, hide and lam, To keep the birds from reaching them. Birds are right and pigs are wrong, Let us sing again this song: Angry birds are brave and strong …

  7. How it was Frankly speaking, I’m not a writer, I’m more a computer games fighter. In Olympiads I like quiz, Puzzles, charades and things like this. Today the task was to create, not guess, But of course, I’ve done my best. It was not easy to be an author, - Not so much I can to pupils offer. “Poetic” tasks were very nice, Since I like poems and rhymes. I myself understood “going to” so good As if I’d known it from childhood. There was also one surprising result: For a moment I felt myself adult. I think it’s useful for everyone To try different roles – and have a fun! Not all of us will become teachers, But such experience enriches.
