  1. 11th Grade U.S. History Mr. Weber – Room 217 Monday November 3, 2008

  2. Activator • Turn in the following things: • 1. Test corrections for Unit 2 (done in class) • 2. Test corrections for Unit 1 (done on the back) • 3. Study guide multiple choice packets (odd and even pages). • 4. Notebooks (so I can grade Summative Assessment 11.4.6) • You may turn in and discuss all late work at the end of class.

  3. Agenda • Activator, agenda, and objective (10 minutes) • Benchmark exam (1:30 minutes) • Independent reading Howard Zinn Chapter 12 “The Empire and the People” (pp.219-232). • Exit Ticket (5 minutes)

  4. ObjectiveAll students will demonstrate their proficiency on the following standards:

  5. Benchmark Exam: • You will have 1:45 to complete the exam. • There is only one class set of exams so do not write on the booklet. Write only on your answer sheet. You may use scratch paper if necessary. • VERY IMPORTANT: You must answer all the questions. Answers left blank cause an error when reading the answer sheets. • There are a couple of questions that you will not be able to answer because we did not learn that specific material. • If you finish early, check your answers. Then read Howard Zinn Chapter 12.

  6. WAY TO GO! • Congratulations on completing the exam! • I am looking forward to receiving your scores. • I hope you are happy with how you prepared and how well you did. • Remember to study for each of the other benchmarks everyday this week.

  7. Exit Ticket • 1. Grades for the 10 week report cards go in Friday. • Write a ¾ to 1 page self reflection discussing the following: • How well are you doing in the class? • What has been difficult for you? Why? • Is there anything preventing you from doing homework or staying after school to make up assessments or work you missed? • What specific things can you do to improve your performance? • What specific things can I do to help you improve? • What have you liked and what have you disliked so far? • What is the single most important thing you have learned?
