Horiz Test Cryostats (1) • 3.9GHz- critical for the 3rdHar module • Possibilities • 1- HorTestCry Tom and Valeri • Toms AAC talk said ready end 06@MTF • How long to build just cryostat and hook to either AO-N or meson (when it has 2K)??? • 2- Use the final 4 cav module 3rdHar mod for single cavity tests @ either A0 or Meson? Needs cryo connection- how hard? • 3- Use CapCav2 at A0/Meson? • 4- Build another CapCav cryostat?

Horiz Test Cryostats (2) • Single Tesla cavity test • Options 1,3,4 • Option 3 kills activities on CapCav2 after oct. ie any installation in the injector for at least a year • Transverse 3.9 will use its 2 cav prototype for tests and inj installation • How much of the effort is in the cryostat and how much in the hook up??

Peters schedule • Begin temporary cryo install NML Dec 05 • Begin commissioning cryo Oct 06 • Begin Op Inj Jan 07 • Begin Op Inj & 1 module Apr 07 My Comments • Why wait 6 months to begin cryo install • I believe PI install/move more like 3months if prepared (not 9) • The connection of a module is a big deal - skip meson • We need the cryo schedule to understand the soonest the inj could run in NML, and whether or not to make any A0 inj mods AND cryo mods • Could we run inj in NML by June 06?? Mod when avail

My conclusions • We should not have a ILC test stand in Meson - It should be 2nd priority to module with beam in NMU • Getting cryo and beam in NMU should be highest priority after Oct CapCav2 test (higher than PD cryo if conflict) • We should determine fastest way to HorTestCryo for both 1.3 and 3.9 GHz • It is unlikely that this is MTF which should be given low priority. • The vertical dewar should be planned for NMU as that is where cryo will be available. • We should understand the possibilities of operating CW/VD tests with reduced refrig and reevaluate locations for VD
