  6. Analysis Salinity is generally higher near where the ocean water enters and lower wear freshwater enters and increases as the tide comes in. Seawater is about 35 ppt, estuaries can range anywhere below Temperature was normal and consistent, between 17.47°C and 18.9°C Highest temperature was near the freshwater drain after it had been in the sun all day Dissolved oxygen can fluctuate a lot, depending on the time of day and between the surface and bottom of the water, usually above 5 mg/L is healthy pH is usually lower near the freshwater areas. Most organisms in an estuary prefer a pH of 6.5-8.5 and can survive from 5.0 -9.0

Conclusion After collecting data from these three sites we were able to conclude that our data was inconclusive to the question.  There wasn’t much difference in data between sites except for salinity, site one is a stream coming from a drain that had a substantially lower amount salinity in it.  This was our only evidence of human pollution because the drain is man made and substances such as rainwater and other liquids put into the streets would be sent into the drain and then from there into the estuary.  Overall we were able to see the differences of salinity according to the location of the site and how the closer sites to the ocean were a higher salinity. The data we collected was consistent with a healthy estuary and we didn’t find any major examples of pollution due to human impact.

  8. Group Collaboration Throughout the day we used quick thinking and teamwork to better our methods and our experience at the estuary. We worked as a team to efficiently record our data and make observations that were pertinent to our question and investigation. Throughout the day we planned where we were going to go and at what times we hoped to change locations, as well as what time we would meet up to work on our project.
