How Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) does work?

A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) changes the speed of an electric motor by adjusting how much power it gets. It's like a dimmer switch for a light, but for motors. This helps save energy and makes machines run smoother.

  1. How Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) does work? Phone-81469-57697 • WWW.NMAGROUP.IN

  2. Input Power Conversion The VFD takes in fixed AC voltage and frequency from the power supply. It converts this input power into DC voltage using a rectifier circuit.

  3. The inverter uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique to control the output voltage and frequency. By adjusting the width of the pulses, the VFD can regulate the speed of the connected motor. Pulse Width Modulation :

  4. MOTOR CONTROL The variable frequency and voltage output from the VFD are fed to the motor, allowing precise control over its speed and torque. The VFD continuously adjusts the frequency and voltage based on the desired speed set by the user or control system.
