  1. In Your Home- Eph 5:22 – 6:4

  2. Theme Passage Eph 1 3 Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ

  3. 1) Live It Out: In Love- Eph 5:25-29 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church & gave Himself for her, …

  4. 1) Live It Out: In Love- Eph 5:25-29 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.

  5. 1) Live It Out: In Love- Eph 5:25-29 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes & cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

  6. In a world full of agendas, selfishness & manipulation—true love stands out from the crowd.

  7. Living out Christ-like sacrificial love in our homes demonstrates that we are more than just religious people, put people with enough power to put ourselves aside to give to others.

  8. Matt 20 27 Whoever wants to become first among you must serve the rest of you like a slave. NCV

  9. Matt 20 28 In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served. He came to serve others & to give his life as a ransom for many people. NCV

  10. “We should seek to love one another- not seek to be fulfilled by one another. Love has a burning desire to see others uplifted, selfishness seeks its own happiness at everyone else’s expense.”

  11. 1) Live It Out: In Love- Eph 5:25-29 Am I living out love in my home or do I want others to make me feel good or look good?

  12. 2) Live It Out: In Marriage- Eph 5:30-33 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh & of His bones. 31 "For this reason a man shall leave his father & mother & be joined to his wife, & the two shall become one flesh."

  13. 2) Live It Out: In Marriage- Eph 5:30-33 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ & the church.

  14. 2) Live It Out: In Marriage- Eph 5:30-33 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, & let the wife see that she respects her husband.

  15. Marriage, established by God as the second relationship after a connection with Him, should reflect the presence of Christ.

  16. Mark 10 6 But from the beginning of the creation, God 'made them male & female.' 7 'For this reason a man shall leave his father & mother & be joined to his wife,

  17. Mark 10 8 & the two shall become one flesh'; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

  18. The Marriage Equation… …most people see marriage as 1 + 1= 2 (which can be separated into its individual parts) God has said at marriage 1 + 1= 1 (the two become a “new” one-just as you become one with Christ)

  19. 2) Live It Out: In Marriage- Eph 5:30-33 Is my marriage (or my future marriage) based on God’s love?

  20. 3) Live It Out: In Parenting- Eph 6:1-3 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father & mother," which is the first commandment with promise:

  21. 3) Live It Out: In Parenting- Eph 6:1-3 3 "that it may be well with you & you may live long on the earth."

  22. Children are not always a reflection of their parents, but parenting should be a reflection of our relationship with God.

  23. Proverbs 1 1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: 2 for attaining wisdom & discipline; for understanding words of insight; 3 for acquiring a disciplined & prudent life, doing what is right & just & fair;

  24. Proverbs 1 4 for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge & discretion to the young--

  25. Proverbs 1 5 let the wise listen & add to their learning, & let the discerning get guidance-- 6 for understanding proverbs & parables, the sayings & riddles of the wise.

  26. Proverbs 1 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom & discipline. 8 Listen, my son, to your father's instruction & do not forsake your mother's teaching.

  27. Proverbs 1 9 They will be a garland to grace your head & a chain to adorn your neck.

  28. 3) Live It Out: In Parenting- Eph 6:1-3 Does my parenting reflect my faith?
