Gandhi • Gandhi became a lawyer and went to South Africa to practice • Gandhi fought laws that discriminated against Indians • Gandhi’s main approach was to the discrimination was a nonviolent approach • Gandhi moved back to India, joining the Congress Party • Gandhi’s ideas inspired Indians of all religions and ethnic backgrounds to resist British rule 1.
