  • I-9 forms are not being completed accurately and thoroughly by the employee and the employer
  • Inappropriate forms of establishing identity and employment eligibility are being accepted
  • Employer accepted photocopied documents
  • Employees are being permitted to leave HR without having completed the form properly because it’s not being double-checked for accuracy.

What to tell the employee filling out the form

  • Complete the top section in pen.
  • Bring the form and pen back to the window with original documentation from Column A or Column B and C

Important!

Entire form needs to be completed in the same color ink. Dates for employee and employer signatures must match.

  • Can I tell the employee what forms of ID to bring?
    • No, the employee must choose from the list which forms they want to use to complete the I-9
