  8. Why community service?! • “Community service demonstrates that you have the personal attributes desired in a health care professional. By placing yourself in situations where you are serving people in need, it shows that you are caring, compassionate, responsive, etc. The kind of community service you pursue can vary widely; ideally, you should be intensely involved with people in need over a period of time long enough so that you may have an impact.”

Need more guidance on your application process? • Sign up for the SNPhA Mentoring Program!!! • Pre-Pharmacy Students will be paired with a current pharmacy student at VCU School of Pharmacy. • SNPhA Mentor program is designed to help undergraduate pre-pharmacy students gain knowledge about Pharmacy School preparation or admission by forming an ongoing mentor relationship with current pharmacy students. • Please e-mail SNPhAInova Representative, Gina Lee, leeja8@vcu.edu. if you have any comments or concerns about the Pre-Pharmacy Mentorship Program • Please be sure to SIGN UP for a mentor on the available sign-up sheets!!! Q&A • Interview Process and preparation • 2 interviews, each composed of 1 student and 1 faculty • Each interview lasts 20 minutes • Be a good listener and answer questions correctly. • Be yourself! • From 11am to 5pm including the tour of Richmond campus. • Student Doctor Network helped me to think about possible interview questions.

  33. Q&A • Life in Pharmacy School • Curriculum: check the school’s website. • 18-22 credits per semester • Quizzes and exams almost every week. • Classes everyday. Lab once a week. • Time management is the key. • Last minute studying is a very bad idea. • Active in community services: Blood pressure screenings, blood glucose screenings, diabetes education, immunizations, etc. • Social events: Pharmacy School Semi-formal, MCV Winter Formal, and each student organization offers socials events.
