Alzheimer's Neurology Center in Albany Dr. Reich’s study found that nearly three out of four Alzheimer’s patients had experienced severe emotional distress during the two years preceding their diagnoses, whereas, only one in four of the control group had undergone major stress. The stresses most frequently encountered by the Alzheimer’s group included: grief, violence, auto accidents, financial difficulties and diagnosis of a family member’s severe illness.
