T31 Overview • Main Functions: • Topology management: build visual topology view, perform the usual function through the graphical configuration process • Alarm management: receive different types of alarms from the equipments, report the alarms to the users by sound or light • Performance management: receive the performance messages from the equipments, the message types include 15 minutes type or 24 hours type • Security management: assure the network management security through the authentication or the other methods • System management: assure the system stability and the system data security • Report management: provide complete report functions, support the custom report output • Log management: support querying multiple logs

Installation and Startup • Installation • Use the same installation package to install the T31 server and the T31 client • During the installation process, sybase database is also installed • Only the client is installed if only the client is needed • Client and sever can be installed in the same computer or in different computers.

Installation and Startup • Starting T31 Sever • Select [Start→ Programs→ NetNumen T31→SERVER]. • In the console, select SYBASE and then click the Start button • Start NAMINGSERVICE, NOTIFYSERVICEUMS, UMS, FTP and KERNEL process in turn. • Note: • FTP process can be started with UMS process. • KERNEL process can be started with NOTIFYSERVICE process.

  12. Installation and Startup • Starting T31 Client • Select [Start→ Programs→ NetNumen T31→CLIENT]. • Input User Name andPassword. • Input IP or select an existing IP in Server Address.

General Operations • Search Network Element (NE) • In the topology management, click the menu item [Navigate →Search], and the Search dialogue box pops up. • Select Search Mode. • Input a keyword in Search Conditions according to Search Mode. • Click the Search button to complete the operation.   26. General Operations • Check Current Alarms • In the topology management, right-click the NE then select Current Alarm. • Check the current alarms of the NE.

  27. General Operations • Check Current Performance • In the topology management, right-click the NE then select Current Performance. • Check the current performance of the NE.

  28. Set Alarm Prompt Sound In the alarm management view, click [Set → Alarm Prompt Filter], the Alarm Filtering and Prompt dialogue pops up. Click New button, the Alarm Prompt Filter dialogue pops up. Select Sound option, click button, the sound setting dialogue pops up. Set the sound file, the sound volume and the play times, then click Save button. Set the alarm condition as required. Click OK button. Click Apply button, a pop-up dialogue notifies the operation is success. General Operations

General Operations • Customize GUI Elements • In the topology management view, click the menu item [Tools → Customize GUI Elements], Customize GUI Elements dialogue pops up. • Select the GUI element type at the left side of the dialogue, set the property of the GUI element at the right side. • Click OK button and complete the operation.
