Early Life • Born on April 20, 1889 • He was the fourth of six children • His brother died of sickness when he was eleven and changed him from a normal eleven year old to a sullen, depressed child.
Young Life • He was rejected from a Vienna Art School • His mother died of breast cancer when he was 18 • After this, he struggled with finances and at one time lived on the street
Early Politics • Was sentenced to 5 years of prison for trying to over throw the Munich police • Wrote his book Mein Kampf
Takes control • On January 30, 1933 was elected as the Chancellor of Germany • President Hindenburg died and Hitler was given emergency powers which he used to seize the nation • He declared himself dictator
