  2. The James Crofts Story A young and courageous 12 year old boy, James Crofts, was fighting a very rare and aggressive form of brain tumour – glioblastoma multiforma, grade 4. Due to his sheer will and strength of character, James lived far beyond the time anyone expected despite being sent home many times to die. Supported by country and western music star, Joey Edwards, who paid for James and his parents to travel to America to undergo a genetic therapy, James’s family created the James Crofts Hope Foundation to help pay for James’s extended treatment and to spread hope to families in need for people who have children and adults who have been diagnosed with brain cancer or brain tumours Unfortunately, James passes away in June 2001. His wish was for the foundation to continue to help everyone with this disease.

  3. Why They Exist? The James Crofts Hope Foundation was formed in February 2001, in Perth, Western Australia. It is licensed and registered charity, dedicated to assist brain tumour sufferers in Australia and to support their carers and family in any way that they can.

  4. What Do They Do? This foundation is all about providing assistance to people with brain tumours, their carers and their families and also to the advancement of the treatment and research of this disease. The foundation also does: • Advocacy and intervention assistance • Respite Care for carers • Home visits • Hospital visits • Support groups for patients, their families and carers • Referral for family and grief counselling (costs are covered if prohibited.) • Financial assistance where the costs of treatment are prohibitive. • And many more

  5. How To Help? As an individual, there are many ways you can help. The ways you can help include: • Become a volunteer to spread the word • Attend fundraising events • Adopting the foundation as your or your business’ charity for the year • Direct deposit into the fundraising account • Allowing payroll deduction • Conduction fundraising events for the foundation at your workplace or in your communities • Spreading the work about who they are, what they do and why people should help • Donate
