  6. Class Rules • The seminars will be conducted as moderated seminars. If you have a question, I will be able to see it. • When you do type your question, please type several question marks after it ???????, that way it will catch my attention.

  7. Class Rules Start/End Dates: The Kaplan University "class week" begins Wednesdays at 12am EST and ends on Tuesdays at 11:59pm EST

  8. Class Rules Assignments (Projects)/Discussion Questions postings will be graded within five days of the due date

  9. Class Rules:Discussion Questions The Discussion Questions are in essence the "classroom" in an online format. This is the venue in which most of the learning take place.

  10. Class Rules:Discussion Questions This means that you must visit the Discussion topics frequently. You will receive a grade for Discussion Board participation.

  11. Class Rules:Discussion Questions The expectation is that student responses demonstrate that class reading assignments have been completed through analysis, evaluation, and citing of outside sources.

  16. Attorney-Client Privilege Does it apply to Paralegals? Does it apply without the client invoking it? Does it apply in this case?

  17. Attorney-Client Privilege Does it apply to Paralegals? More and more courts are extending the privilege to communications between paralegals and clients

  18. Attorney-Client Privilege Does it apply without the client invoking it? Yes. You cannot divulge, even if client did not specifically invoke. Only client can waive, you cannot.

  19. Attorney-Client Privilege Does it apply in this case? Crime-Fraud exception. Privilege does not protect communications used to further a crime or fraud. Confession of previous crime may be protected.

  20. Attorney-Client Privilege in the Electronic Age Be careful with all electronic communications. Third parties lurk everywhere. Make sure you use disclaimers on all electronic communications.
