  3. Letter to YOU! Hello! My name is Hayley and my feature story is all about me and my favorite memories. I have had a crazy, fun filled life so I hope you enjoy! One of my favorite memories included in my Feature Story is going to Newport Aquarium for the first time. I think I was about three years old and I remember staring forever at the giant fish-filled tanks. I loved it. I also remember going to Kings Island when I was tall enough to ride all of the “big kid” rides. I have always been short so I was really excited when I was 49”- just enough to ride the Beast. I was 9 years old. I hope you all enjoy my magazine and really remember some key parts! Yours Truly, Hayley Huff

  4. Feature Story: About Me & My First Memories Hi. My name is Hayley Danielle Huff and I was born on March 11, 2000. It was snowing when I was born. I have a brother named Hayden and he was born December 28, 2002. And yes, we do fight. All in all, it was me, Hayden, my mother and my father. We were always a happy family. One of my earliest memories is going to Newport Aquarium in Kentucky. This places was huge, it has fish takes filled with every single kind of fish there was AND sharks. They also had turtles and eels and other little sea creatures. I would go to one tank and just stare. It would put me in an awe-state. I love animals and have though about being a Marine Biologist before. My family and I still have the photo of us in the big shark jaws. Another memory was the first time I could ride the “big kid” rides. I have always been short, I’m not even five foot right now, so when I could ride roller coasters, it was awesome. I love riding scary, thrilling roller coasters, I always have. I remember waiting in line and the workers having

  5. To measure me. I barely making it. The Beast was pretty scary. It’s a wooden coaster so it is a lot rougher than the metal ones. I don’t know, I just have loved riding roller coasters. Now I am thirteen years old, in seventh grade, about to go into eighth and ready to live life. I am online constantly, texting people or on Facebook or Twitter. I am One Direction obsessed, always socializing and having the usual “teenage problems” but they always play out. I fight with my family, I fight with my friends but it is all part of growing up and learning from your mistakes. I am a teenager.

  6. Character Sketch Elena My best friend. My sister. Elena. She laughs at everything, even the worst jokes. Elena. She is always there for me, even in my darkest times. Elena. Short legs, scared hips, and dark-rimmed glasses…. Jeans, sweatshirts, slides and elites. That is Elena. Room walls covered with pictures and posters. Silly, funny, friends. Elena. When we laugh and laugh, we sound like thunderstorms in the night. Silly faces, jokes, everything makes us laugh. Elena. Elena is more than a friend, And more than a sister. She is herself, Elena.

  7. This I Believe Essay Miracles Do Happen “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” –Albert Einstein I one-hundred percent agree with Albert because I have experienced many little things that I call miracles like finding new friends, getting a favorite pair of shoes, or just anything that means so much to me. I think miracles do happen. That’s my opinion. Other people don’t think they happen. Others are debatable on if they are real or not. It all started the day my mother wanted another kitty, only this time a yellow tabby kitten. She had been searching on pet finder and other websites; we couldn’t find the right one. While at work, she got an email sent to the whole district. This lady found a yellow and white kitten in Kroger’s parking lot. This kitten did not have a name but my mom had been thinking of names and had the perfect one. We have a cat named Frisky so she wanted another “F” name. She came up with Felix. The lady said Felix was a six month old male who had gone to the vet and was healthy. One problem, he was not fixed. My mom had to think about this. She thought long and hard for about two days. Finally she decided to get him. After school, she went and picked him up from the lady’s house. Felix came to our house and we all loved him. But not Frisky. Frisky was growling and hissing. Frisky was so not happy. The next day we took Felix to get fixed. He slept for two days. By the time he could wonder the house, Frisky was feeling a lot better. Now they act like best friends. I have many memories with Felix, like when I woke up to find him sleeping on my bookbag. Others when I walked into my bathroom and found him asleep in the sink. He is so precious. He sleeps under the Christmas tree and in our blanket basket and it is adorable. Other people might not think of this as a miracle but my family sure does. We think of it as adding another family member. We cherish every moment of everyday. Every little thing that happens to us is a miracle. My life had been changed by appreciating everything. He is part of the family. We all love Felix and hope he lives a long happy life with us. He is a healthy, kitten that will be forever our little miracle.

  8. Four Metaphors, For Life Life is a haunted house. You never know what is coming your way or where to run next. Life is like an old mystery book. Looked at, worn down, opened and closed. But each page has something more that excites you. Life is a bowl of steaming-hot soup. So many different kinds, each having its own flavor and ingredients. Life is a thunderstorm. Rainy, gloomy and dark. But afterward, you get and oh-so-colorful-and-bright rainbow.
