  1. Riverview NeighborhoodVision 2025 ProjectsOverview Riverview Neighborhood encompasses several smaller districts including Uptown and SOBO. The area has many structures that are considered historic. Boundaries are the Midland Valley bike trail on the east, Riverside on the west, 21st to the south and Highway 51 on the north. This plan attempts to include all districts and to denote the boundaries. Outlined projects were chosen from the neighborhood master plan.

Riverview NeighborhoodVision 2025 Projects • Install Gateways: • Gateways will give the neighborhood identity and cohesion as well as identify individual districts in the Riverview footprint. • Gateways will mirror the design of the historic arch at 14th and Carson • Replace the Carson Arch: • The Carson arch is a historical artifact that is part of Tulsa’s rich heritage. • The arch will be a destination point for walking tours and history enthusiasts • The arch will be a source of pride for the neighborhood Note: Visitors to the area frequently ask if the arch will be restored • Improvements to “Stickball” park: • Park will be a community gathering area for events such as block parties • Park will augment the existing Council Oak Park • Improvements will heighten quality of life for the neighborhood • Project will enhance the look of the neighborhood • Park replaces Locust that was lost to highway 51 construction

Riverview NeighborhoodVision 2025 ProjectsEstimated Costs • Install Gateways: • Total cost $8,500.00 • Amount requested from V2025 $8,000.00 • Replace the Carson Arch: • Total cost $11,000.00 • Amount requested from V2025 $11,000.00 • Improvements to “Stickball” park: • Total cost $ 21,000.00* • Amount requested from V2025 $5,000.00 *Project developed and itemized by Tulsa Parks Department

Riverview Neighborhood Gateway Project Proposed Locations: One column on either side of Boulder Ave at 21st One column on either side of 18th at Cincinnati Ave One column on either side of Denver Ave at 13th St Riverside at the McBirney Mansion, one at Riverside and Houston Ave and one at Riverside and Galveston Ave Gateways on 18th will also feature “SOBO” plaque to be purchased by area Business owners Gateways on Boulder to feature “UPTOWN” plaque to be purchased by Area businesses Arch construction: Red utility brick exterior Concrete footing Concrete cap Projections: 8 total columns, 2 per gateway Utility sized brick used Apprx price per 1000= $900 Total Cost estimated at $1000 Per column Signs to be purchased via the city from General fund. Neighbors will provide and maintain Landscape elements. 10’ 2.5’

  5. The sketch above depicts the intersection at 13th and Denver Avenue with Gateways on either side of Denver Avenue. Gateways constructed at key entryways, such as 13th and Denver, 12th and Houston, 18th and Boston and Riverside Drive would add unique identifying qualities to the neighborhood Sketches by Monty McElroy

  7. Riverview Neighborhood Carson Arch Project Fabricate the iron arch: $5000.00 Ensure stability of columns: $1000.00 Purchase and install light fixture: 600.00 Install the Arch: $2000.00 Repair small arches: $2400.00 Labor will be donated by Tulsa Technology Welding School

Riverview Neighborhood Stickball Park Project • Install park bench per City of Tulsa Parks Department plan: 2 @ $535.00 per unit • Install concrete bench pad 3’ x 6’ x 4’ : 2 @ 850.00 per unit • Install sign for park designation: 1 @ $2,230.00 • Neighbors to donate Hackberry trees for perimeter: 5 @ $200.00 per unit (see figure on slide 10) • Neighbors to maintain watering and care for trees
