  4. Chelan County Stormwater Program • 2011 Chelan County Stormwater Comprehensive Plan – 75% complete. • Within the vicinity of Wenatchee, the county has both open and closed conveyance systems.

  5. Summary of Flood Hazard Reports • Canyon No. 1 and No. 2 pose the highest risk of potential mud flows. • Risk factors • high hill slope gradient • high rainfall intensity • lack of vegetation • land-use practices • Debris, mud & sediment = System Failure

How Did We Get Here? • The CDLT coordinated a site visit with the city, and county to a potential joint use facility parcel (May 2011). • As a result, C.C. conducted a feasibility study of the site (July 2011). • City/county interface • Water quality improvement • Debris control now. Potential future flow control.

  8. Joint Use Facilities… • Combined flood mitigation and water quality improvements with recreational facilities for schools, trailheads, and neighborhood parks.
