  1. e-Procurement in Africa Region • In the last few years, the agenda has drawn lot of importance and attention in more and more countries in the region. • Use of internet in procurement is a practice in many countries. • AFTPC works closely with WBI to promote this agenda in the regional countries. Last year, the country e-procurement readiness was carried out in Kenya and Tanzania. This year in Ghana and Rwanda. • E-procurement is being embedded under the umbrella of country procurement reform programs.

  2. E-Procurement in Africa Region • Key Challenges – • Buy-in by Governments because e-procurement makes procurement process transparent. • How best to sell the agenda to Governments. • Timing ?
