She writes the other characters as TOPGIRL or THEOTHERGIRLS. • Why do you think the author does this? However, there are still connections that can be seen between the two: • What connections do you see as far as the treatment of other people? • How do the girls in these two selections react the same? • How do the girls in these two selections react differently?

Are there things you change about yourself to be more like the in crowd? • What is it about you that sets you apart or makes you an individual? Do you like those things about yourself? Do you wish you could change them? • Teachers, adults, parents, etc., always how try to tell you the best ways to deal with bullies. What do YOU think is the best way to deal with people who are cruel? Why do you think this is so?
