  2. NGSS Timeline: What we know today • The standards can be accessed at www.nextgenscience.org • Final Release – April 9, 2013

Timeline Continued… • NYS Science Standards Evaluation Tool (Survey) • Various groups of stakeholders compare each set of standards (current and NGSS) • Stakeholders are: statewide leadership team, science content advisory panel, NYS Science Education consortium. • Survey Closed October 15, 2013 • The feedback received on this survey will be used, in part, to formulate a recommendation to the BOR regarding next steps regarding P-12 science teaching and learning.

  4. Survey Results • 4,500 people started to respond to survey • 1,500 actually submitted the completed survey • Aggregating data at this time. • NGSS UPDATE ONLY for Board of Regents on December board meeting agenda • No recommendations being made to the Board of Regents at that time.
