Like Eye Airfield? • Continued American presence Mildenhall/Lakenheath- effect on economy? • Museums (Thorpe Abbots) • Memorials (i.e. Madingley Cemetry in Cambridge.) • Memorial Library • Family connections. GI brides? • Clubs and assoc (Buddies of the ninth/Friends of the eighth) • American tourism. • Crash sites • The ‘special relationship’ • Brown Babies/ relationships etc

  3. Eye Airfield.A good example. £1/2 million cash injection into the local area. Industrial expansion. 30 firms, hundreds of jobs. Help to reverse the decline in agricultural jobs and unemployment. Long term physical changes. The tower at Eye airfield.
