  2. Some General Presentation Tips • You can use this template for your presentation if you like, but feel free to use a different one that matches your own style! • The best classes use a presentation only when it is really relevant. It can be very useful for showing big images or movies and for posing questions to the class. • Try to resist relying on it too much though – use real props, hand things out and get people interacting with each other. Keep on-screen content to a minimum.

  3. Use big pictures, rather than lots of words ‘They’re not pets Susan’ by Slinkachu

  4. Using Pictures: Tips and Tricks Big pictures are a great way to show the class the things you are talking about. Fill the slide! Get good quality pictures and really use the space. If you are just looking for an interesting photo of something common then try Flickr, Instagram or Pinterest. Please reference any images you use in the bottom right.

  5. People like movies • Erika Iris Simmons

  6. Using Movies: Tips and Tricks Short movies can be a great way to break up your class. We recommend that you keep the movies to 2 or 3 minutes max as people tend to switch off if they are much longer. If you want to pull something off YouTube, you can do it at kickyoutube.com or saveyoutube.com. Again – remember to reference everything you use.

  7. Embedding Videos • If you want to embed YouTube (or other online) videos then there are a couple of ways of going about it. • For people using PowerPoint we recommend checking out this link, for Keynote check this out and for Prezi users you can read more information about it here and here. • If you do decide to embed online videos please make sure you download the video as well and bring it along on the night, just in case there are issues with the Internet at our venue.

  8. Seek desperate remedies from the young while drinking? (9,2,6)_ _ _ _ _ _ _ / _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ Posingquestions are great

  9. Pose Questions to the Class Keep the number of words on a slide to a minimum, but do use them to pose questions or set challenges for the class. Posing questions is a great way to induce discussion and make your class more fun and interactive! Don’t be afraid to give out little prizes like sweets. You can even make them relevant to your class if like!
