  3. Cochrane Lions Minor Football Association is a Not-For-Profit Society. The objectives of the Society are: To provide an organization to coordinate and operate football programs for youth aged 7 to 17 and to provide teams to play in the Calgary Atom Football Association, in the Calgary Pee Wee Football Association, in the Calgary Bantam Football Association and in the Calgary Midget Football Association. The Society’s Mandate is to ensure the long-term stability, viability and success of the football programs and orderly succession of Coaches, Members, Officers and Directors for the football programs.

Cochrane Minor Football Association Program Summary The Cochrane Lions Football program is a development program focused on: • Safety • Fun • Fairness • Football, athletic, emotional and mental skill development • Teamwork Our focus is to teach basic football skills: • Rules of the game • Safety- How to play full contact football safely • Balance, Speed, Agility, Strength, Endurance, Form • Blocking • Tackling • Offensive Skills- Ball carrying, Throwing, Catching, Passing • Defensive Skills- Reading the Ball Carrier, Blitz, Sacks, Pass Coverage

Atom – Head Coach Craig Hallden One of the most competitive programs in Calgary Atom Association Pee Wee – Head Coach Steve Dallison Playoff participation Bantam – Head Coach Paul Vaillancourt Moved up from Division 2 to Division 1 during the season 3 players named All-Stars, 1 player named to CBFA Select and Team Alberta South Midget – Rebuilding phase; no team in 2016 2016 Program Review

  7. 2016 Team Revenue $ 47,262.39 Team Expenses $ 36,593.25 Surplus $ 10,669.14* * Surplus earmarked for turf improvements and the building of a Lions Fieldhouse - Motion needed to appoint auditor of society’s financial records for 2016

  10. Atom (ages 8-10, not turning 11 by December 31) Note that there are no tryouts at the Atom level (ie. no cuts). In the event that there are too many players, priority for the team will be based on date of registration. Pee Wee (ages 10-12, not turning 13 by December 31) There are tryouts for the 40 player squad. The team plays in the Calgary Peewee Football association. Bantam (ages 13-15, not entering grade 10 during season or turning 16 by December 31) There are tryouts for the 34 player squad. The team plays in the Calgary Bantam Football association. Midget (grades 9-11, not turning 19 by March 1) Season is during Spring and is underway. There are tryouts for the 40 player squad. The team plays in the Calgary Midget Football association.
