  4. ACLs, Actions to End Overfishing and Rebuilding Status Actions to End Overfishing • Snapper Grouper Amendment 13C (implemented in October 2006) ended overfishing for golden tilefish (in 2006) and snowy grouper and black sea bass (in 2008)

  5. ACLs, Actions to End Overfishing and Rebuilding Status Actions to End Overfishing • Snapper Grouper Amendment 16 (now under Secretarial review) proposes actions that will end overfishing of gag grouper, red grouper, black grouper and vermilion snapper

ACLs, Actions to End Overfishing and Rebuilding Status Actions to End Overfishing • Snapper Grouper Amendment 6 (implemented in 1994) should have ended overfishing for speckled hind and Warsaw grouper, however, there has not been a stock assessment conducted for these species since the amendment was implemented

ACLs, Actions to End Overfishing and Rebuilding Status Actions to End Overfishing • In June 2008 the Council was notified that red snapper was experiencing overfishing • Amendment 17 (now being developed) contains actions that will end overfishing for red snapper • The Council will also consider an Interim Rule request to prohibit all harvest and possession of red snapper at the March Council meeting
