Concern - Worry – Anxiety
  • For the Christian – concern becomes worry when we fail to relate the situation that confronts us to the source of sufficiency in God.
  • To worry is to assume a responsibility that is not necessarily ours to assume
  • Failing to recognize that...

God knows our problems

God is bigger than any problem

God loves us enough to seek our highest good in the midst of every situation.

Life’s Troubles – To Help us Grow
  • James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
  • Romans 5:3-5 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
life s troubles to correct us

  • Demonstrates His love as our Father
life s troubles to extend his grace
Life’s Troubles – To Extend His Grace
  • 1 Cor. 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
  • God knows how much we can take
  • His grace is sufficient
god s sufficient grace
God’s Sufficient Grace
  • Paul - 2 Cor. 12:7-9 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Worry as a Thief
  • Quote: “Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”  - Leo Buscaglia
  • John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
  • Satan wants to steal our joy, our peace, our ability to serve God, to destroy our testimony
it s our choice
It’s our Choice!
  • Quote: “I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety or fear try to call me, they keep getting a busy signal - and soon they'll forget my number.”  ~Edith Armstrong
  • Worry changes nothing for the good
  • Matt 6:27 - Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
