  6. Climbers of ‘The Alps.’ Many attempts were made to climb some of the mountains in ‘The Alps’. Not every mountaineer was successful. An avalanche, believed set off by a two-member team scaling the 15,000-foot Dom mountain in the Valais Alps, swept away 12 mountain climbers today, killing four, all of them women, rescue officials said. They said the eight other climbers were injured, three seriously.
