  3. OrasulsubteranDerinkuyuestesituat in orasulOmonimaflat la o distanta de 40 km de Goreme. Construit initial in rocavulcanicamoale din Capadocia de catrefrigieni in sec VIII-VII i.Hr., orasulsubteranDerinkuyu a fostlargitsidezvoltat in perioadabizantina. Orasul era legat de alteorasesubteraneprintunelurilungi de cativakilometri. Puteaadapostiintre 3000 si 50 000 de locuitori. • 

  4. Complexul are 11 niveluri. Existaaproximativ 600 de iesiricatreoras, ascunse in curtisau sub cladiri. Orasulsubteran are aproximativ 85 m adancime. Cuprindetoatecamereleuzualeintalnite in oraselesubterane, (biserici, vinarie, camere de locuitsipentrudepozitarealimentelor etc). Pelangaacestea, o camera mare ceprezinta o arcada, situata la nivelul al 2-lea, era o scoalamisionaracrestina, camerele din parteastangafiindfolositepentrustudiu.

  6. Orasul Derinkuiu contine aproximativ 15000 de canale de ventilatie care furnizau aer proaspat in adancurile orasului subteran. Gurile de ventilatie, ce au o adancime de 55 m, erau folosite si ca fantani.

  8. Oraselesubterane nu eraufolositepentruvietuireapermanentasaupentruperioadeindelungate. Cert estefaptul ca eraufolosite in timpulinvaziilor. • OrasulsubteranDerinkuyu a fostdeschispublicului in 1965. Poatefivizitataaproapejumatate din suprafatatotala. Acesteasezarisubteraneprezinta in zilelenoastre o importantaatractieturistica.
