  2. Accessing E-Services • To access e-services from the SMSU homepage select the E-Services link under Quick Links.

  3. Logging in to E-Services • To log in to e-services, you need your Mustang ID and your PIN Number. • The first time you log into e-services your PIN Number is your birthday in the YYMMDD form.

  4. E-Services Homepage • This is the e-services homepage. • Use the menu on the left side of the screen to easily navigate through e-services.

  5. Changing your Pin Number • One of the first tasks you should complete when logging in to e-services for the first time is to change your PIN Number. • To do so, select Account Management from the menu and select Change Pin from that screen. • After selecting Change Pin, create your new PIN Number, making sure to meet the Pin Requirements.

  6. Entering your Demographic Information • Another task you should complete when logging into e-services for the first time is to enter your Demographic Information. • To do so, select Demographic Info under the Account Management tab. Fill out the information and select Submit.

  7. Checking your Grades • Grades for a semester will be available after the grading period of that semester, approximately one week after finals. • To check your grades, select Grades and Transcripts from the menu. • From there, select the term that you would like to view the grades for from the drop-down menu.

  8. Checking your Grades… • The report will list all of your classes in that term, your grade, your term and cumulative earned credits, and your term and cumulative GPA. • Here is a sample grades report.

  9. Checking your Academic Record • To view a list of all of your grades, you can view your Academic Record in e-services. • To do so, select the Academic Record tab under Grades and Transcripts. • From there, select how you would like to view your record, and select Get Academic Record.

  10. Checking your Academic Record… • The report will list your classes and grades in the view you selected. • Here is a sample of an academic record.

The Degree Audit Report (DARS) • Another way to check your grades, as well as your progress for completing your LACs and Major Requirements is the Degree Audit Report (DARS). • To view your DARS report, select the Degree Audit Report tab under Grades and Transcripts. • At the top of the DARS report is a legend for reading and understanding some of the codes.

The Degree Audit Report (DARS)… • When viewing your DARS report, you will see three different colors: red, yellow, and blue. • The color red signifies that a certain requirement has not been completed. • When a section has a red heading, the report will indicate your credits earned toward that requirement, your credits in progress, and the credits needed to complete the requirement. • The report will also indicate courses you can take to complete the requirement.

The Degree Audit Report (DARS)… • The color yellow signifies that the final course of a requirement is in progress, and that once that course is completed, the requirement will also be completed. • When a section has a yellow heading, the report will list the credits earned towards the requirement as well as the credits in progress. • The color blue signifies that a requirement has been completed. • When a section has a blue heading, the report will list the credits earned for that requirement.

Housing and Dining • To view information about your room or meal plan, select Housing and Dining from the menu. • The report will give you information on your prepayment, contract status, room assignment, and meal plan for each academic year. • To view more information on your room, select View in the row marked Assignment.

  17. Housing and Dining… • When viewing your room assignment, the report will list your house and room number, your move-in date, your move-out date, your roommate, your residence hall phone number, your room type, and your mailing address for the residence hall.

  18. Courses and Registration • An important feature of e-services is Courses and Registration. • Courses and Registration is where you can search for classes, as well as register for them or drop/withdraw from them. • You can also view your class schedule.

  19. Finding a Course • The first step in registering for classes is to search for them. • To do so, select Find a Course under the Courses and Registration tab. • From there, select the term you would like to search from the Semester drop-down menu. Also select a subject area from the Subject drop-down menu and select Find Courses. • Note: A helpful way to search for classes is to view your DARS report and see what courses would finish requirements you still need to complete.

  20. Finding a Course… • The Search Results screen will list the available courses in your selected subject area. • To view more information about a course, select the course Title.

The course page gives you useful information about it including the dates the course runs, the days and times the class meets, the location and size of the course, the instructor, the course ID, how many seats are remaining in the course, what LAC requirements it meets, any restrictions or prerequisites, as well as a brief description of the course. • If you decide that you would like to register for the course or consider registering for it, you can add it to your course cart by selecting Add to Cart. • Note: Adding a course to your cart does not automatically register you for it, or reserve you a seat in the class.   22. Registering for a Course • When registering for a course, you must access your Course Cart. • The Course Cart can be accessed at three locations on the Courses and Registration main page.

  23. Registering for a Course… • Once you are in your Course Cart, select the courses you would like to register for by checking the box to the left of the course name. • Once you have selected your courses, select Register For Checked Courses.

  24. Registering for a Course… • At this screen, you will confirm your registration for the courses you have selected by entering your PIN Number and selecting Register.

  25. Quick Add Registration • Another way to register is to use the Quick Add Registration tab under Courses and Registration. • To register, enter the Course ID numbers for each course you would like to register for and select Register Now.

  26. Viewing/Modifying your Class Schedule • After registering for classes, you will be able to view your Class Schedule. • To do so, select the View/Modify Class Schedule tab under Courses and Registration. • The report will list the courses you are registered for and give you information about credits, instructor, days and times, and location. • From this screen you also can drop/withdraw classes. • To do so select the Course ID number.

  27. Drop/Withdraw from a Course • To drop/withdraw from a course, select Drop/Withdraw from the drop-down menu and select Process.

  28. Drop/Withdraw from a course… • To confirm your drop/withdrawal, enter your PIN Number and select Process Request.

  29. Checking your Registration Holds • If you are not allowed to register because of registration holds, you can view the holds by selecting the Check Registration Holds tab under Courses and Registration.

  30. Checking your Registration Window • To check the time your registration window opens, select the Registration Window tab under Courses and Registration. • The report will give you a date and time at which you may begin registering.

  31. Contacts • If you have any questions or concerns about registering, financial aid, or bills and payment, you can contact the appropriate office by selecting Contact Us from the menu.
