Social media - Twitter How to increase your personal and professional profile (cont.): • Find people contributing good content in your discipline and then be interesting yourself • Retweet (RT) if you enjoy a tweet and share it with your followers • Use link shorteners like bitly.com or tinyurl.com to make more room to tweet and share links • You may want to use a Twitter client like @Hootsuite or @Tweetdeck to manage and measure your social networks • Tweet from your smartphone anytime, anywhere • If someone mentions YOU, respond • Keep your tweet to 140 characters so as not to frustrate followers who have to click twice to finish reading Information Services
