  1. A Summary of “The Funnies, the Movies and Aesthetics” HUMN-240-E2WW, Assignment 1-3-2 Professor – Jennifer Krasno By – Jonathan Typpi June 20, 2013

  2. The article discusses comics as art, especially in movies and print. • I first thought this article would be about how funny things were associated with movies. The Author’s Main Points

  3. The article said that comics were art and even more so the article tried diligently to point out that funnies or comics should be given the same or at very least similar consideration and regard for credibility as movies. The Author’s Main Points

  4. The article attempts to show comics to be as credible as movies by exploring the aesthetic relations between comics and films. • According to the article philosophers have been conditioned to their acceptance of comics as an art form. Article Analysis

  5. The way comics are displayed, in bright colors and flashy pictures, hardly supports an impression of credible information. • Since comics have a way of carrying us from one point to another they should at least be afforded the status of temporal art form. Article Analysis

  6. Comics gained ground, as far as breadth, in the later part of the twentieth century as comics were used to express such themes as rape, racial prejudice, murder, the Viet Nam conflict, the drug problem, romantic predicaments, poverty, mental health, alienation, and death. Article Analysis

  7. Comic strips are given place in the newspapers, but that doesn’t mean they should be considered as relevant as a feature film. • Comics are very much a part of our contemporary culture; this still does not justify considering them as a relevant or as impacting as a movie. Article Analysis

  8. I do see that comics are an art form and therefore agree with that main point of the article. However, I do not agree that comics have the same level of credibility as that of movies. • Movies are far more gripping and have so many more tools available to convey settings, backgrounds, environments, magnitude, and human expression, that comic's really pale in comparison. Do I agree with the Main Points or not

  9. In my opinion this article has some importance associated with it. • It is at least somewhat important to know the relevance of components of our popular culture. • This article shared some of that perspective. Why or why not, is this Article Important
