  3. Purposes of the Electronic Resources Subsystem: • to avoid dublicity of functions • to ensure one time creation of bibliographic records • and their mutifunctonal usage • to provide links between Archive of ER and oter LIBIS • modules

  4. National Bibliography Databank (NBDB) within LIBIS - a ground of national bibliographic control of ER

  5. Principles • ER in all languages and/or scripts of ER, which are • used in the country • belonging of ER to The Republic of Lithuania

  6. Principles • bibliographic records of ER are preparing in • accordance with the internationally recognized • standarts • bibliographic and authority records for ER are • created only once

  7. E-documents of the National bibliography are also appear in: • OPAC • Union Catalogue

  8. International standarts used LIBIS software - for cataloguing • ISBD (ER) and other ISBD’s • UNIMARC manual • UNIMARC guidelines No. 6 • FRBR

  9. Specifical problems of cataloguing: • Definition of the title proper • Lack of numeric designation within online serials • Frequent difficulty of determining when a serial • publication started or if/when it ceased.

  10. Specifical problems of cataloguing: • “Imprint" information, such as place and date of • document • Information about URL of electronic resource.

  11. International standarts used • Identification systems: • ISBN • ISMN • ISSN • URL
