Exploring the Colorful World of Andy Warhol: A 4th Grade Art Project

Dive into the vibrant art of Andy Warhol, a Pittsburgh-born American artist and a key figure in the Pop Art movement. Known for his innovative media including drawing, painting, printmaking, and more, Warhol's work comments on celebrity culture and advertising from the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, he became a controversial figure in contemporary art. Students will create their own "Warhol-like" images by coloring a black and white photograph with highlighters, inspired by his unique style.
