  1. 4th Grade Quote of the Week: “If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan but never the goal.” A goal without a plan is just a wish. Morning meeting topic for the week: Setting Goals-Personal and Educational News Reminders: Please remember to sell Smart cards. Last day is Sept. 2nd. What we are learning this week: Reading: Author’s Purpose Writing: Informative Language Arts: Imperative/Exclamatory Sentences Math: Place Value Science: Cells Social Studies: Native Americans/Physical Features Upcoming events for this week: Aug. 25th- NWEA Benchmark testing begins Sept. 1st- Labor Day (No school) 4th Grade Connections (below are things you can do at home to help your child) • Have your child read a book and tell you about what they read. • Adding and subtracting numbers up to the millions place (without a calculator). • Spelling • Writing Leader in Me Habit of the week: Habit 2 : Begin with the end in mind “I plan ahead and set goals. I do things that have meaning and make a difference. I am an important part of my classroom and contribute to my school’s mission and vision. I look for ways to be a good citizen.
