The Danish Refugee Council (DRC),established in 1956, is a private, humanitarian organization covering all aspects of the refugee cause

To protect refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions through repatriation, local integration or rehabilitation.

DRC work in more than 25 -30 countries throughout the world, eg. Iraque, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Somalia

2007 turnover: 700 million DKK

4,000 employees internationally, 500 in DK

3,700 volunteers in Denmark

Funding by DANIDA, EU, UNHCR and governments in a number of countries

Approx. 33 mio. DKK from private donors/contributors

Administrive costs: 5-6 %
