  2. Programs of Study/Pathways to Results Project at Lewis and Clark Community College: A Brief History • Radio Broadcasting Program • Reason for choice • Team members • Goals • Examine existing program elements at 2 high schools • Expand program offerings to 2 additional high schools

Programs of Study/Pathways to Results Project at Lewis and Clark Community College: A Brief History • Data examination finding • Headcount discrepancy between program participants on paper and actual program participants • Students not properly classified as program majors • Various reasons • Problem resolutions (still under development)

Working to eliminate discrepancies in declared majors on paper and in actuality Increased vigilance among CTE coordinators and academic advisors when enrolling students Redesigning the on-line registration system to require students to declare/reaffirm their major before being allowed to register for classes Link program majors ‘ required courses and financial aid notification New law prohibits financial aid to pay for classes that are not within a program’s required coursework

Anticipated outcomes of resolving major declaration discrepancies More accurate data for reporting and program reviews More timely completion of one’s chosen CTE program More program completers Fewer students exhausting financial aid resources before completion of program requirements More students eligible for support services (especially from the Perkins Student Support Project)

Programs of Study/Pathways to Results Project at Lewis and Clark Community College: Electronic Guideposts Created • The Project’s goal was to complete a Program of Study template that would begin with 9th grade and conclude with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Radio Broadcasting from Lewis and Clark Community College

Programs of Study/Pathways to Results Project at Lewis and Clark Community College: Electronic Guideposts Created • This completed guidepost provides students interested in Radio Broadcasting a clear, concise view of their educational pathway from their freshman year of high school to the conclusion of their AAS degree at Lewis and Clark Community College • Each guidepost created is unique to a high school and its curricula providing counselors, students, and parents a true picture regarding what a program entails and the types of careers one can enter with a degree or credential in that field • Created guideposts can be adapted for other CTE programs offered at the College’s district high schools • Guideposts are electronic documents that are live and are updated as requirements, syllabi, and offerings change. • Guideposts are easily accessed on the College’s website and are available 24/7 • www.lc.edu click on Degrees and Certificates on menu bar, click on High School Partnership Program, click on Programs of Study, under description of POS, click on Program and School desired.
