  2. New Year Reminders • God is our creator; he makes each year (Gen. 1:14-15) • God is our sustainer; he crowns the year with goodness (Psa. 65:11; Acts 17:28) • Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners; it is now A.D. 2015 (Anno Domini), the year of the Lord (1 Tim. 1:15)

  3. New Year Reminders • We need to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord (Lk. 4:19) Will we use it to assemble for his death? Will we use to learn more of his word? Will we use it to tell others of him? Will we use it to do more of his work? Will we use it to follow him more closely?

  4. New Year Reminders • God stays the same year after year (Heb. 1:12) • We are dependant upon the Lord’s will this coming year (Jas. 4:13-16) • God was longsuffering last year (2 Pet. 3:8-9) • God has a “year” set to judge man (Rev. 9:15; Lk. 12:19-20)

  5. New Year Reminders • How did we spend our passing year (Psa. 90:9-10)? • In well-pleasing service to God (Heb. 12:28) • In murmuring against God (Phil. 2:14-15) • In proper walking with God (Eph. 5:8-11) • In growing toward God (1 Pet. 2:2)
