  2. Welcome To 4H Online This has been created to help Jefferson CountyFamilies learn how to navigate the 4HOnline program. It will allow families to know what is taking place in your county’s 4-H program and to keep you up to date on your families’ involvement. This manual includes a great deal of pictures to help you navigate through the website as well as guided instructions In some places there are references to other previous sections if steps have already been explained in detail. The overall goal is for this manual to assist you in navigating the website and provide a better understanding of Colorado 4H.

  3. Important! No Family, member or leader will be accepted for enrollment until approved by your local Extension Office. All forms must be completed and turned in with enrollment fees before being approved by the Extension Office. This must be complete by the deadline date of December 31for re-enrolling members and May 1st for new members.

  5. How to Locate the Website colorado.4honline.com or co.4honline.com You may also access family and club leader information at http://www.ext.colostate.edu/ye/family

  6. Select Colorado by either using the drop down menu or by clicking Colorado on the map. Mozilla Foxfire is a user friendly web browser when using 4-H online. If you are experiencing problems with another browser try using Mozilla Firefox. If you continue to have problems, contact your local office.

  7. How to Edit your family account Edit Youth (Member) or Adult (Leader) You will need your primary “family e-mail” Don’t remember what you provided your local county office? Call them, they can help you.

  8. The first time logging in for existing members, remember you will need to check “forgot password” to get a temporary password emailed to you. Forgot my password Email that is on file at your local Extension Click here Select “I forgot my password”, type in the family email address which you have provided to your local extension office. Choose “Family” from the “Role” drop-down box. Click “send my password” Do not close the internet window. Open your email browser and find the email from 4HOnline. Return to 4HOnline and click “I have a Profile” . Copy /Paste or type your password exactly as sent by 4HOnline. It is CASE SENSITIVE. Click “Log In”. You will be asked to change your password once you log in.

  10. Note: The password MUST BE 8 characters and contain at least 1 number or symbol. Type the new password twice, once in the “new” and once in the “Confirm New Password” field. Click “Continue” (Remember your password for re-entry in to the program.

  12. To review your family information click “Edit Family” Add new member here. **Directions are included in “New Family” “New Member” enrollment If you update the mailing address be sure to check the box titled “Update member records with same address”.

  13. How to Edit your Adult (leader)

Each person who is enrolled has their own member record under the family account and individually populate the member record with personal information and enroll in clubs, projects, etc. All editing of both member records and family information is done through the family account. To edit an existing member record, click “edit” to the far right of the screen.

  18. *Verify all Information. *Everything in Bold is required to be filled out Cell phone and texting permission *please be sure to list your carrier. Year in 4-H will always start with 1 in your initial enrollment. This can only be changed by the County Manager or State Staff. Feel free to change anything that needs updating. Although only the bold is required, it is recommended that all fields be completed. Remember, the more detail the better. If a family email blast is sent out, you will not receive it if you change the email field. Although you may enter a member email to be contacted directly. The family email will be the one receiving a majority of the communication.

  22. Any change to a club or volunteer type can be made here. Please delete old club. Verify your club. Make changes if needed.

  28. Edit member This is the “Member List” of all members in the Family Record – to begin re-enrollment – click “Edit” and click “Enroll for 2012-2013” button near the bottom of the page. Verify all the information and then click here to enroll

  30. Fill this section out for the primary parent. This is required. Fill this section out for 2nd parent only if they live in the household. If both households would like to receive mail, check here. Fill this section out for parent that does not live in household Emergency contact other than parents.

  32. Complete school information from drop down box. If unable to locate school you can proceed to the second part of school information. Click “continue” to complete school information

  33. Notice: If the animals are not at your residence the form must be printed out and delivered to the extension office. This form requires a landlord , parent, member, leader and agent signature.

In most counties, if you completed all release forms and health information online, you do not need to submit a paper copy.
