  2. From Judaism to Jesus • Acts 18:18-21 And Paul having remained many days more, taking leave of the brothers, he sailed from there into Syria. And Priscilla and Aquila were with him. And Paul had shorn his head in Cenchrea, for he had a vow. (19) And he came to Ephesus and left them there. But he himself entered into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews. (20) And they asking him to stay a longer time with them, he did not consent (21) but took leave of them, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that is coming in Jerusalem, but I will return again to you, God willing. And he sailed from Ephesus.

  3. Philippians 3:3-7 For we are the circumcision who worship God in the spirit and rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh; (4) though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other thinks that he has reason to trust in the flesh, I more. (5) I was circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews. As regards the Law, I was a Pharisee; (6) concerning zeal, persecuting the church; regarding the righteousness in the Law, blameless. (7) But whatever things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

  4. 8Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

  5. 11In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

  6. 14having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. 16So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,

  7. 17which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. 18Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God. 17ﭐلَّتِي هِيَ ظِلُّ ﭐلأُمُورِ ﭐلْعَتِيدَةِ، وَأَمَّا ﭐلْجَسَدُ فَلِلْمَسِيحِ. 18لاَ يُخَسِّرْكُمْ أَحَدٌ ﭐلْجِعَالَةَ، رَاغِباً فِي ﭐلتَّوَاضُعِ وَعِبَادَةِ ﭐلْمَلاَئِكَةِ، مُتَدَاخِلاً فِي مَا لَمْ يَنْظُرْهُ، مُنْتَفِخاً بَاطِلاً مِنْ قِبَلِ ذِهْنِهِ ﭐلْجَسَدِيِّ، 19وَغَيْرَ مُتَمَسِّكٍ بِالرَّأْسِ ﭐلَّذِي مِنْهُ كُلُّ ﭐلْجَسَدِ بِمَفَاصِلَ وَرُبُطٍ، مُتَوَازِراً وَمُقْتَرِناً يَنْمُو نُمُوّاً مِنَ ﭐللهِ. كُولُوسِّياَلأَصْحَاحُ ﭐلثَّانِي COLOSSIANS CHAPTER 2

  8. 20Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations, 21“Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,” 22which all concern things which perish with the using, according to the commandments and doctrines of men? 23These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

  10. The Sufficiency of Christ Alone 1- Rationalism and Philosophy.

  11. 8Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

  12. 19For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 20Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

  13. 22For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

  14. The Sufficiency of Christ Alone 2- Legalism and Rituals.

  15. 14having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. 16So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

  16. Galatians 3:1-3 O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you not to obey the truth, to whom before your eyes Jesus Christ was written among you crucified? (2) This only I would learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing of faith? (3) Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, do you now perfect yourself in the flesh?

  17. Galatians 4:9-11 But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? (10) You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! (11) I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.

  18. The Sufficiency of Christ Alone 3- Mysticism and worshiping Angels.

  19. 18Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” 12حِينَئِذٍ تَقَدَّمَ تَلاَمِيذُهُ وَقَالُوا لَهُ:”أَتَعْلَمُ أَنَّ ﭐلْفَرِّيسِيِّينَ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا ﭐلْقَوْلَ نَفَرُوا؟
