Engineering This one is surely the career choice of most of the candidates in 12th and they start preparing for it from a very early stage. This is a four year degree course. There are many streams in which candidates can make a promising career based on their choices and interest. Bachelor of Science (BSc.) Merchant Navy The courses under Merchant Navy are Higher National Diploma (HND) Nautical Science or Marine Engineering (1 year course) and Bachelor of Science in Nautical Technology, the duration of this course is 3 years studying and 1 year training period. Candidates can also pursue Bachelor of Technology in Naval Architecture and Ship Building. The eligibility required is 12th Science PCM with high percentile. Candidates can get Admission through Entrance exam like All India Merchant Navy Entrance Test (AIMNET). The main requirements for the candidates interested in this course are the vision (eyesight) and health standards. Defence Services The NDA offers only a full-time, residential undergraduate program to the interested candidates. After 3 years of study cadets are awarded a Baccalaureate degree (a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Technology). After this cadets have a choice of two streams of study i. e. humanities. The Science stream offers studies in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science whereas in Humanities (Liberal Arts) stream the courses offered are studies in History, Economics, Political Science, Geography and Language.
