Trefniadau Newydd CPCP New NPQH arrangements Mae trefniadau diwygiedig y CPCP: Yn defnyddio asesu trylwyr i adnabod yr ymgeiswyr mwyaf addas i fod yn benaethiaid yn y dyfodol Yn canolbwyntio mwy ar y sgiliau a’r priodoleddau sy’n ofynnol ar gyfer prifathrawiaeth drwy fesur ymarfer yn erbyn safonau proffesiynol Revised arrangements for NPQH are designed to: Use rigorous assessment to identify only the most suitable candidates for future headship Focus more on the required skills and attributes for headship through evidencing practice against professional standards

Trefniadau Newydd (2)New arrangements (2) • Yn rhan o broses flaengar, gydol gyrfa o ddatblygu sgiliau arwain – yn hytrach na hyfforddiant dwys byrdymor yn syth cyn asesu • Yn rhoi mwy o gyfle i fynd i’r afael ag anghenion datblygu unigolion – yn hytrach na dull mwy cyffredinol • Be part of a progressive, career-long development of leadership skills - rather than short term intensive training immediately prior to assessment • Provide increased scope to address the development needs of individuals - rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach

Gweithredu Implementation Bydd cylch 2012-13 y CPCP yn cychwyn yn hydref 2012 Bydd yr ymgeiswyr yn cwblhau’r asesiad erbyn diwedd tymor yr haf 2013 Bydd angen i’r holl ymarferwyr sydd am gael eu hystyried ar gyfer asesiad ymgeisio erbyn hanner dydd ar 24 Hydref 2012 2012-13 round of NPQH will commence in Autumn 2012 Candidates will complete the assessment by the end of the Summer term 2013 All practitioners who wish to be considered for assessment will need to apply by 12 noon on 24 October 2012

Proses ddetholSelection process Bydd y trefniadau canlynol yn penderfynu pwy fydd yn cymryd rhan ym mhroses asesu’r CPCP: Bydd gofyn i ddarpar ymgeiswyr anfon cais ffurfiol yn electronig at gonsortia rhanbarthol Bydd y consortia’n dethol ymgeiswyr gan ddefnyddio meini prawf y cytunwyd arnynt yn genedlaethol The following arrangements will determine participation in theNPQH assessment process: Prospective candidates will be required to formally apply by electronic application to regional consortia Consortia will select candidates using nationally agreed criteria

Proses ddethol (2)Selection process (2) • Er mwyn cael eu hystyried, rhaid i’r ffurflenni cais fod yn electronig ac yn cynnwys dau ardystiad: • gan y pennaeth (neu gadeirydd y llywodraethwyr pan fo’r ymgeisydd yn bennaeth dros dro) • gan y swyddog awdurdod lleol penodedig (manylion i’w gadarnhau gan y Consortia) • Ar yr ymgeisydd y mae’r dyletswydd i gael gafael ar yr ardystiadau – a dylai ymgeiswyr gynllunio’r amserlen ymgeisio ar sail hynny. • To be considered, application forms must be sent electronically and include two endorsements: • from the headteacher (or Chair of Governors where applicant is acting headteacher) • from the designated local authority officer (details to be confirmed by the consortium) • The onus is on the candidate to obtain both of the endorsements – candidate needs to plan application timetable on that basis.

Proses ddethol (3) Selection process (3) • Bydd y panel dethol rhanbarthol yn: • gwirio bod y llofnodion angenrheidiol ar y ffurflen • asesu a yw’r cais yn cyrraedd y lefel isaf sy’n dderbyniol yn yr 8 elfen asesu yn y ffurflen gais • craffu ymhellach ar y ceisiadau sy’n weddill, eu sgorio a’u rhoi mewn trefn flaenoriaeth. Rhaid i gais fodloni pob un o’r camau i symud i’r nesaf • The regional selection panel will: • verify that the requisite signatures are contained on the form • assess whether an application meets the mininum acceptable level in all 8 assessment elements in the application form • further scrutinise the remaining applications, allocate a score to each and rank them accordingly. An application must satisfy each stage to move to the next

Proses ddethol (4)Selection process (4) • Detholir hyd at 100 o ymgeiswyr i fynd ymlaen at asesiad y CPCP; • 80 o lefydd i’r 4 consortiwm ar sail pro rata yn ôl y nifer o ysgolion yn y consortiwm. Llenwir y llefydd hyn gan yr ymgeiswyr sy’n sgorio uchaf o fewn y consortiwm; • Dyrennir y 20 lle arall ar sail genedlaethol i’r ymgeiswyr sy’n weddill sy’n sgorio uchaf trwy Gymru. • Up to 100 candidates will be selected to progress to NPQH assessment; • 80 places to the 4 consortia – allocated pro rata according to number of schools in the consortium. Places awarded to highest ranked applicants in each region; • The other 20 places allocated on a national basis to the remaining highest ranking applicants across Wales.

Meini Prawf DetholSelection criteria Bydd angen i ddarpar ymgeiswyr fodloni’r holl feini prawf canlynol: Bod yn athro cymwys/athrawes gymwys sy’n gofrestredig gyda CyngACC Wrthi’n ceisio prifathrawiaeth fel eu swydd nesaf Prospective candidates will need to meet all the following criteria: Be a qualified teacher and be registered with the GTCW Be actively seeking headship as their next post

Asesiad CPCPNPQHAssessment Ar gyfer asesiad y CPCP bydd yn rhaid i ymgeiswyr gyflwyno tystiolaeth gref i ddangos eu bod, drwy eu harferion arwain, yn: Cwrdd â phob un o’r meysydd allweddol yn y Safonau Arweinyddiaeth Amlygu’r ffaith eu bod yn barod ar gyfer prifathrawiaeth trwy ddefnydd ymarferol ac integreiddiedig o’r safonau The NPQH assessment will require candidates to demonstrate strong evidence that, through their leadership practice, they: Meet each of the key areas of the Leadership Standards Demonstrate their readiness for headship through practical and integrated application of the standards 15

Cefnogaeth ar gaelAvailable support Caiff pob ymgeisydd isafswm o gefnogaeth gan berson proffesiynol fydd yn gweithio gyda’r ymgeisydd i: Adnabod a chytuno anghenion cefnogi penodol Cynghori ar adnabod tystiolaeth berthnasol Cynorthwyo’r ymgeisydd wrth adnabod blaenoriaethau o ran datblygiad arweinyddiaeth pellach Darparu cefnogaeth wrth baratoi ar gyfer y Ganolfan Asesu Each candidate will have a minimum level of support from an experienced professional who will work with the candidate to: Identify and agree specific support needs Advise on the identification of relevant evidence Assist the candidate in identifying priorities for further leadership development Provide support in preparation for the Assessment Centre 20
