  2. Mark 11:22-23 "Have faith in God!  I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him."

  5. Isaiah 30:30-31 The Lord will cause men to hear His majestic voice and will make them see His arm coming down with raging anger and consuming fire, with cloudburst, thunderstorm and hail.  The voice of the Lord will shatter Assyria; with His scepter He will strike them down.

  6. Did this really happen? vs. 12-15 It was poetical. But: vs. 14 God refracted the light from the other side of the world. But: vs. 13 Unscientific to say that the sun stops. But: Language of “appearance”

  7. For those unsure…vs. 12-15 The earth’s rotation miraculously slowed down for one extra day. This slow down was due to answered prayer. This was a very small thing for the Lord to do (given Creation and Genesis 1).

  8. Three other things: They all returned to Gilgal vs. 15 - for next week! We must remember the larger context of Scripture: 1. God will only respond according to His will and for His glory. 2. God will only respond for our ultimate good. (Christlikeness - Romans 8:29)
