  20. FRHS Core Curriculum Graduation Requirements • English (4 credits) • Fine Arts (1 credit) • Health (1/2 credit) • Mathematics (4 credits) • Physical Education (1/2 credit) • Science (3 credits) • Social Studies (3 credits) • Electives (5 credits)

  23. 1. Scheduling Courses • Required Courses in Grade 9: • English 9 (single period) • American History • Math • Biology • Health/PE 9 (may be postponed)

  33. High School Book Fees • Vary depending on student schedule • Assessed in fall (Oct./Nov.) • If book fees are NOT paid: • Report card is held • Cannot participate in graduation ceremony

  34. School Supplies for HS • No supply list (because of variation of HS schedules) • Bring on the first day of school: • Notebook • Folders • Pencils/Pens • Teachers will provide more info. on the first day of school

  36. 2. Going to College? • Take challenging classes •  quality transcript • Take the ACT (or SAT)

  37. What is a Transcript? Official record of grades, attendance, test scores, etc. Transcripts for graduated students are kept in the administration office.

  38. 3. Students can earn college credit in many high school classes! AP Courses at FRHS Tri-Star, Ag, Accounting

  39. 4. Tri-Star • ½ day vocational programs (skilled trades) • Sophomore presentation/tours • Attendance/Tardies (very important!) • College credit available

  40. 5. PSEO ProgramCollege Classes for HS students Mandatory meeting held each February

  41. 6. Credit Flexibility • Offers an alternative way to earn high school credit • Testing out of an existing class • Creating a plan for a new class • Using other educational options • Must apply if interested
