For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
And he (Peter)
shall speak words to you (Cornelius)
by which you will be saved
Evangelism is NOT living the life
There are twenty one “words “
that define evangelism in Acts,
all are verbal expressions of truth
It is speaking the words
that Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures,
and that He was buried,
and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
and that He appeared to Cephas, etc.
“When a man does not make me know what he means it is because he does not himself know what he means.”
“But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, in order that I may finish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.
I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died needlessly.
If by grace, then it is no more of works: otherwise grace is not grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Works and the Law are NOT
in opposition to Grace
they are antithetic to Grace
Heaven is a free gift, it cannot be earned, merited, or deserved.
It is free to anyone who is absolutely perfect
The Sinfulness of sin
Sin – I have sinned
Necessitates the Cross
Sinfulness – I can do nothing about it
Necessitates the Resurrection
The bible teaches what the world demonstrates to be true,
that all have sinned
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
The first problem is I did it…

The second problem is I can not do anything about it

This is not the worst problem
If God des not judge sin, then He is not God

His declaration for the penalty is death
Romans 6:23 The wages for sin is death
Illustration – absence of all good, worst day ever
We are guilty, and can do nothing about it, unfortunately neither can God!
The Holiness of God
The Justice of God
The Love of God
The Mercy of God
The Dilemma of God is NOT
The Dilemma of God IS
How can a Holy and Just God
declare a guilty person innocent
and free them from the penalty of sin
for the showing, I say, of his righteousness at this present season:
that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus.
Christ solved the “I have sinned problem.”
He died in my place
Christ solved the “I can do nothing about it problem.”
He rose again to give me new (eternal ) life
Romans 4:25 who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.
Romans 5:1 Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;
I Peter 3:18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit
Romans 3:24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith.
God loved us and sent His Son to die for us

The Great exchange II Cor. 5:21
He took our sin
He gave us His right standing with God
Does this make sense to you
Faith is valuable because of WHAT you believe, not THAT you believe
It is a non-meritorious act whereby we allow God to do what He has promised to do
In order to receive the free gift we must believe God
Acts 16:31, John 1:12
Illustration give a Bible
This act of faith involves three things
Knowing the truth - an act of the mind
Wanting the truth - an act of the heart
Accepting the truth - an act of the will
Is there any reason you would not want to receive the free gift of eternal life
We receive Christ through an act of the will… asking Him to do what He has promised. John 1:12
We ask God for His free gift through prayer
Would you like to pray now to receive Christ?
