Elements of Art. Bell Work 6-8 th Grade (Review). Bell Work- 2 points a day (7 days = 14pts). Over the next 7 class days we will be reviewing the 7 elements of art in our sketchbook. Please make boxes in your sketchbook as seen below. Label each element of art . Be creative with a font.

  1. Elements of Art Bell Work 6-8th Grade (Review)

  2. Bell Work- 2 points a day (7 days = 14pts) • Over the next 7 class days we will be reviewing the 7 elements of art in our sketchbook. Please make boxes in your sketchbook as seen below. Label each element of art. Be creative with a font. Line Draw a 2 inch (height) by 4 inch (width) boxand draw that element within the box. Define that element The most basic element of art. A moving dot on a surface.

  3. Shape • When a line crosses itself or intersects with other lines to enclose a space it creates a shape. There are organic and geometric shapes. (see below) Label each element of art. Shape Draw a 2 inch (height) by 4 inch (width) boxand draw that element within the box. Organic shapes- natural, free flowing Geometric shapes- are symmetrical, can be measured and are man made. Define that element Your definition goes here

  4. Color • Color: When the light rays hits an object our eyes responds to the light that is bounced back and we see that color. Without light we would not see colors. Label each element of art. Color Draw a 2 inch (height) by 4 inch (width) boxand draw that element within the box. Define that element Color: Your definition goes here

  5. Space Space: an empty surface or area. Also, the area around something. •Positive space: the solid forms in a design. Negative space: the space around the positive space.  Label each element of art. Space Draw a 2 inch (height) by 4 inch (width) boxand draw that element within the box. Positive Define that element negative Your definition goes here

  6. Value Value is the range of lightness and darkness within a picture. Value is created by a light source that shines on an object creating highlights and shadows. Label each element of art. Value Draw a 2 inch (height) by 4 inch (width) boxand draw that element within the box. Define that element Your definition goes here

  7. Texture Texture is the surface quality of an object. Real Texture: the actual texture of an object. Simulated Texture: is the where a two-dimensional piece of art is made to look like a certain texture but in fact is just a smooth piece of paper.   8. Form Form is the three-dimensionality of an object. Label each element of art. Form Draw a 2 inch (height) by 4 inch (width) boxand draw that element within the box. Define that element Your definition goes here
