  1. DS200 IDEA GENERAL STRUCTURE

  2. PURPOSE • The purpose of this presentation is to explain the setup and the use of DS200 IDEA application.

  3. WHAT IS IDEA? • Idea is a program which is used to program and maintain the system.

  4. ADVANTAGES • Easy to use • Safe via GUI (Graphical User Interface) • Allows backing up the system • Can access the system remotely

  5. SETUP • Setting up Idea is as easy as clicking Idea_install.exe file. • During the standard setup process, idea will ask you to define a password. This password must have at least 8 characters whereas at least 5 characters and 3 digits.

  6. SETUP

  7. FEATURES • Programming facility offered in several groups • System, ports, LCR, EEPROM tables... • System configuration • Visualization of racks and cards • Parameter loading from file/to a file

  8. FEATURES • Port parameters • System parameters • Different IDEA operators with different authorities • Call statistics • Port tests • Multiple extension/line programming • Logging • Call data receipt and many more…

  9. FEATURES • Different types of connection to system: > From serial port of PC to the system, > To a system through Net-Console Server > To a system through LAN Adaptor > To a system through modem > Offline mode

  10. IDEA

  11. IDEA • Configuration: • Cards on the system can be seen. • Some basic operations on each card can be handled by right clicking the desired card. e.g. power the card off / on

  12. IDEA

  13. IDEA • System Parameters: • These parameters affect the operation ofwhole system, they are not specific to a certain part. • e.g. Night Mode, Background Music

  14. IDEA • Port List: • The complete port list of the system is seen. • Port numbers can be changed individually or in groups by using “Operations” button. • Specific port parameters can be reached by double clicking the “…” field.

  15. IDEA

  16. IDEA • Services: • Access codes of features can be viewed and changed in this window.

  17. IDEA

  18. IDEA • Port Parameters: • These parameters are programmed separately for each port. e.g. Follow Me, Call Authority, Ringing Extension

  19. IDEA • PBX groups: • The extensions or trunks of the system can be grouped as desired. • Trunk grouping is important for routing. • Extension groups can be used as hunt groups for the subscribers.

  20. IDEA

  21. IDEA • Call pick-up groups: • Groups of extensions that can pick up their calls by “5” can be formed .

  22. IDEA

  23. IDEA • Restricted/Permitted Numbers: This window is used to define the first digits of external numbers that extensions can / cannot call.

  24. IDEA Extensions with authority level 4 cannot call numbers starting with 0, except for 0216 and 0212.

  25. IDEA • Phone Lock Level: • This window is used to define lock levels. • Extensions locked at those levels cannot dial those digits.

  26. IDEA Extensions locked at level 2 cannot forward their calls to extensions starting with “4”, cannot define password and cannot park their calls.

  27. IDEA • Memories: • The common pool numbers of whole system and private pools of extensions can be displayed and new numbers can be entered.

  28. IDEA

  29. IDEA • LCR-ASR: - This is used for automatic routing of calls with the following menus: Filters, Route Table Route Plan Table Leading Digits Access levels

  30. IDEA • LCR-ASR: - Filters: The filters defined here are used to change the digits dialled by extensions (e.g. add another digit in front).

  31. IDEA

  32. IDEA • LCR-ASR: - Route Table: The route table defines the line, filter and the required accesslevel for this route. For routes, three alternatives can be formed.

  33. IDEA

  34. IDEA • LCR-ASR: - Route Plan Table: The route plan table selects the routes on time basis. So, different routes can be used for different times of the day and days of the week.

  35. IDEA

  36. IDEA • LCR-ASR: - Leading Digits: The definition of the called numbers to be analyzed by the system is made in this window. Also the route number is selected on this window.

  37. IDEA

  38. IDEA • LCR-ASR: - Access Levels: The minimum authority level required to use the route is definedhere.

  39. IDEA

  40. IDEA • Account Codes Table: - This menu is used to define the passwords with different call authorities. The same password can be used from different telephone apparatus.

  41. IDEA • Any extension who knows the password can dial 797+004+password to make international calls.

  42. IDEA • First Digit Table: - The system does not establish 2-way voice connection in external calls unless programmed number of digits are not dialed.

  43. IDEA • For the numbers starting with “1” the system waits for 3 digits.

  44. IDEA • GPBX Table: Defines and shows the monthly pulse limits of extensions and lines.

  45. IDEA • Until the end of the month, extension 1207 has 25 pulses. So far, he has used 20 pulses within this month. In previous months he has used 1700 pulses in total. Next month, his account will automatically be upgraded to 100 pulses.

  46. IDEA • ACD: This is used for EVM200 parameters with following menus: General Parameters, Constant Message Numbers Constant Message Types Menus

  47. IDEA • ACD: - General Parameters: Used to define some common parameters of entire EVM operation, e.g. language settings.

  48. IDEA

  49. IDEA • ACD: - Constant Message Numbers / Types: Used to define message numbers for some certain EVM functions. Message types are also specified here. (Those functions are specific and given in programming guide.)
