  3. APPEARANCE AND HABITS: They looks likepigswithhair, with a short snout.They are 1,8 to 2,5 metres tall. The Tapires are active alltheday , are peacefulanimalsonly are agressiveiftheyconsiderthat are in danger. Theyeatleafs, grass and roots. Manyhours of thedaytheystay in swampswheretheyeataquaticplants. Theynormallystay in therainforestorswamps.
